Yup! We, being BURP (Berkhamsted Ukulele Random Players) are excited and pleased to be hosting a one-day festival in the Civic Centre, slap bang in the middle of down-town Berko all day and most of the evening on Saturday 3rd March. Loads of great acts and chances to participate in workshops and strum-alongs; stalls; bands... and then decamping to The Three Horseshoes for a mega-thrash in the evening. All the details as they emerge are published on the Ukes for UNICEF web site. And, as the name indicates, all proceeds go to UNICEF.

Hope to see and hear lots of you there. Entry is by donation.

Did I mention the raffle which we think will include a couple of very decent ukuleles?

Less than seven weeks now...

Great acts, stalls from Bonsai Guitars and Ohana both of whom have donated a very posh uke - well over £300-worth in total! - for the raffle. All the details as they emerge at www.ukesforunicef.com

I know this thread hasn't really set Mudcat on fire, but I thought some of you may still like to know we raised over £2.5k for UNICEF on what was a fantastic day: over 300 people through the door, a great atmosphere throughout... so successful, in fact, that we've already booked the venue for Saturday 2nd March 2013 :-)
