I can always tell if he likes what is being played by the expression on his face, esp. his ears and forehead (frowning or not:-). When I say to him, "do you like that pretty MEW-sik, he blinks his eyes and deigns to have a scratch round the ears and forehead. He was very lovey as this was playing!
