Suggest googling on Old Friends Ceilidh Band which will have links to a lot of Ulverston folk stuff. In facty, ring one of them up and find out, they are good people! |

Subject: RE: Owt on in Ulverston? From: Dave the Gnome Date: 13 Nov 11 - 11:40 AM Our friend there reckons the Old Friends may have moved - Anyhow, we had a sing-in on Saturday. There were 17 of us so it was quite easy :-) Friday we went to the Hope and Anchor and say a trio called Muscavado - Irish tunes and some contemporary songs. I guess a sort of 'showband'. Very good too. Visited the King Billy at Kirksanton on Saturday afternoon but it was closed :-(So had a sandwich in the Miners arms in Silecroft instead - They have live music too, but not this weekend. Seems quite popular up in the lakes. Cheers DtG |
