Subject: ADD: There's Nobody Home On the Range Anymore From: Joe Offer Date: 10 Nov 11 - 12:49 AM Somebody e-mailed to ask for help finding sheet music for "There's Nobody Home on the Range Anymore." I found a YouTube recording of Jerry Dycke's 1988 performance, and I found lyrics at one of "those" Websites. Can somebody direct him to sheet music? -Joe- THERE'S NOBODY HOME ON THE RANGE ANYMORE (Written by Ed Penney and Rob Parsons) The old man who dreamed of the fortunes he'd seek Lives in a room where you pay by the week His hands are all battered and his pony's gone lame And his bones always ache when the sky looks like rain Well, he dreams of the old days when bronc bustin' paid And the wide open spaces where buffalo played Deep in his memory wild horses ride on But he knows the good times have all come and gone There's nobody home on the range anymore They closed down the bunkhouse and padlocked the door Now there's oilwells and motels and folks by the score But there's nobody home on the range anymore Now the eagle's stoped flyin' the night wind is still And the last coyote's howlin' on some lonely hill The old man is longin' to lay all down In his final box canyon the poor side of town Cause he knows his last mountain is two flights of stairs And his saddle's turned into an old rocking chair Mornings he wakes up and wonders what for Cause there's nobody home on the range anymore There's nobody home on the range anymore They closed down the bunkhouse and padlocked the door Now there's oilwells and motels and folks by the score But there's nobody home on the range anymore Source: http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/There's-Nobody-Home-On-The-Range-Anymore-lyrics-Moe-Bandy/A7F9F6D00A6E7AB648256FAB002977F0 (corrected dramatically) |
