Subject: Song Competition in Lincolnshire From: GUEST,Woody Date: 09 Nov 11 - 03:48 AM Traditional Music & Song at The Red Lion in West Deeping And for those of you who enjoy a good sing…..and a pint, then do consider coming along to The Red Lion in West Deeping on Thursday, 17th November at 8pm for The Oscar Preston Memorial Trophy - an annual competition to encourage solo traditional singing. …it won't be 'heavy'' serious, or introspective…just a load of fun and an excuse for a different sort of 'singaround'….some of the best local singers, some of whom perform as regular support artist at The Barn will be competing for the trophy…it's a free 'Come All Ye' in the bar…authentic old style pub entertainment. The evening will start and finish with a BIG SING of chorus songs from the tradition….and we may also play a few tunes.
