Anybody besides Jean Ritchie. I already have listened to her a lot and love her stuff. I am looking for something new. I'd prefer American folk songs. |

Other Roger Nicholson stuff is fine too, of course... |

Several others worthy of mention are David Schnaufer, Tull Glazener, and Rob Brereton. These are primarily instrumentalists. Aubrey Atwater, Lorraine Lee, and Kevin Roth are good instrumentalists but also use the dulcimer for vocal accompaniment. Also add Randy Wilkinson, Janita Baker, and Bonnie Carol. |

My name is Jane Foggin (foggers is my nickname) and I play in a band called the Backyard Buskers. I would second the recommendation of the Ning site Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. My baritone MD was made for my by my other half; it has quite a long VSL of 31" and we got the strings from NewTone strings; I can't remember to string sizes off hand, but I will try and check. |

When my OH was making my baritone MD he used a different algorithm and the strings he initially fitted were so heavy and taut I could not fret them! |
