Subject: Whitby Plough - A Folk Comeback? From: GUEST,Rumourmonger Date: 16 May 08 - 09:04 AM I heard it through the grapevine - (though I don't beleeeeve it) - rumour that the Plough will once again open it's doors to folkies (inc all you tight-fisted ones) ready for the Whitby Folk Week. Has Humph got the umph about being burned on the beach? Is he cutting his losses? Has he expired and left a folk-friendly will? Has someone bought him a Bodhran? Watch this space - any other news anyone? |

Subject: RE: Whitby Plough - A Folk Comeback? From: Carol Date: 17 May 08 - 07:49 AM Sorry but until he changes his mind about music in all of his pubs I won't go in any of his pubs. Surely that's the only way to show how you feel - actually I did write to him when about it ages ago but didn't receive any reply. |

Subject: RE: Whitby Plough - A Folk Comeback? From: Nick Date: 17 May 08 - 11:18 AM Rumourmonger - you're not the guy down the chip shop who likes Elvis are you? As someone who has had letters from Mr Smith I think it is just a rumour based on a wish not reality. |

Subject: RE: Whitby Plough - A Folk Comeback? From: GUEST,Rumourmonger Date: 17 May 08 - 01:36 PM I love chips and Elvis, but try to keep both under wraps as much as possible. Fortunately I can enjoy the Whitby festival without resorting to too much Elvis or chips, and I certainly don't need Humph to change his mind in order for me to enjoy it either. Not my rumour, - just passing it on. |
