Just to let you all know that MFC is very proud to announce a very rare appearance for that Master Performer and Raconteur, Roy Harris on Thursday 21st February at our usual venue. Webpage: Maidenhead Folk Club . This man was there at the revival, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Bert Lloyd and Ewan McColl and has a huge knowledge of the music and the movement and puts it over in a way that leaves you wondering where the time went at the end of the evening....

An evening not to be missed - all are welcome to come, listen, learn and enjoy!

Tony

I will be there, as should all lovers of unaccompanied singing, we are in for a real treat.
As for the pipes at dawn I shall be armed with a large cask with the capacity of two hogsheads, may it be a fair fight.

I am just listening to a record of Burl, great stuff - in front of a live audience. If he has it on sale - buy "live at the Lion"

I so wish I could make it.

Dave

Dave - some of Maidenhead FC were at the recording of "Live at the Lion" (at the White Lion, Wherwell, home of Wildgoose - it was Doug Bailey doing the recording), and singing along in the choruses (as was I).

I don't think I'll be able to get to Knowl Hill tomorrow, but it will be a great night!

Kitty

Yes, I was there on the momentous occasion of the recording at the 'White Lion' and of course I have a copy of the CD. But that won't stop me seeing him live!

Yes we were there for that fine night and the CD is good but you can't beat the real thing.

My thanks to everyone at the Maidenhead club for their great reception last night. The club is 36 years old now and seems set for many more. Thanks to the 'Catters who came along, and to Tony & Pearl, the organisers. The club cannot fail with people like these at the helm. Burl.
