Subject: RE: Cottingham Live - Permathread From: Linda Kelly Date: 14 Feb 08 - 02:35 PM none whatsoever - you missed a corker standing room only-our stress levels are in overload fittng everyone in. I did my usual 'Shut up and get on with it or I wont be able to fit everyone on act'- You were missed Tim come back soon! Yellowbellies are so far off the hit list, but if they get rid of the bridge toll it's open warfare! You were suitably represented by the excellent Workshy Profits from yon side of 'Umber.Linda x |

Groan then nights next week I will forget what me guitar looks like at this rate. Please imagine one of those realy unusual representations of a grumpy or unhappy face composed of various characters of the key board here. |

Subject: RE: Cottingham Live - Permathread From: Micca Date: 11 Apr 08 - 06:24 AM Well, This week College being in recess, I "took it on my toes" and nipped off to Yorkshire to visit friends and grabbed the opportunity to spend Wednesday evening at Cottingham Live Club. It was MAGIC!!! a crowd of friendly talented singers and musicians in a lovely atmosphere with an incredibly high standard of floor singers who were as welcoming to a visiting itinerant from south of the Trent as they could be. It probably helped that I was sitting with Linda and Hazel(Hissyfit)who sang Sweet Minerva and Northern Tide. I had a really good evening in the company of the Cobbles. The harmony singing when a woman (whose name I didnt catch) sang "Amazing Grace" was out of this world I was well impressed. If you are ever in the area I could not reccommend this club more highly as well worth a visit and I intend to go back when I can. Micca |
