Subject: RE: BS: Help ! recipe needed pronto From: George Papavgeris Date: 05 Jan 08 - 08:53 AM You can also try warm custard on your meringues. Might not take the pain away, but oh - the idea of it! |

Subject: RE: BS: Help ! recipe needed pronto From: eddie1 Date: 05 Jan 08 - 09:22 AM My mind is working overtime trying to work out how and why someone needs a recipe for crushed meringues in such a hurry but you could try this one:- Eton Mess 450g (1 lb) - Strawberries 375ml (12 fl oz) - Double or Whipping cream 6 - Meringues 75 ml (2½ fl oz) - Kirsch A few sprigs Mint (optional) Chop and hull the strawberries, reserving a few for decoration. Place in a bowl and add the kirsch, cover and chill for 2-3 hours. Whip the cream until it forms soft peaks, fold in the strawberries and juices Crush the meringues and fold into the mixture Spoon into small sundae dishes or wine glasses, decorate with the reserved strawberries and a sprig of mint. Serve immediately. Have fun eating unless you know something about the crushed meringues you won't be telling the diners! Eddie |

Subject: RE: BS: Help ! recipe needed pronto From: Bee Date: 05 Jan 08 - 11:27 AM A thread full of proof that anything can be gotten from the Mudcat. And, I have seen crushed meringues used as a 'nest' for fruit salad. |

Subject: RE: BS: Help ! recipe needed pronto From: Amos Date: 05 Jan 08 - 11:33 AM MŽringue (also mereng) is a kind of Ha•tian music related to twoubadou and the Dominican merengue. It is a guitar-based style (unlike the primarily accordion-based merengue), and is generally sung in Ha•tian KrŽy˜l. There ya go. Do not stifle the blues, suppress ballads, intimidate love songs, asphyxiate yodels, or crush merengues. At least don't tell the folkies on this site. The Mudcat Constabulary will be in hot pursuit... And, this is now a music thread! A (And no dampening out cattle-calls, either...). |

Subject: RE: BS: Help ! recipe needed pronto From: autolycus Date: 05 Jan 08 - 02:55 PM George - how on earth (well, on the internet) do you find a pic like your last? I wouldn't know where to begin. A serious Q. tho' I'm not into that kinda thing . Oddly. It's more a research question. I'm ever interested in how people find what they find. Ivor |
