Toda la tierra espera al Salvador; y el surco abierto a la obra del Señor: es el mundo que lurcha por la libertad, reclama justicia y busca la verdad. 2. Dice el profeta al pueblo de Israel: "De Madre virgen ya viene el Emmanuel" Será "Dios con nosotros." hermano será; con El la esperanza al mundo volverá. 3. Montes y valles habrá que preparar, nuevos caminos tenemos que trazar; el Señor está cerca, hay que irlo a encontrar y todas las puertas abrir de par en par. 4. En un pesebre Jesús apareci243;; pero en el mundo es donde nace hoy: vive en nuestros hermanos, con ellos está, v vuelve de nuevo a darnos libertad. ALL EARTH IS WAITING All earth is waiting for the Savior; and furrows will open for the sowing of God. All the world is struggling for liberty, Reclaiming justice and seeking the truth. Thus spoke the prophet to the people of Israel: "A virgin mother will bear Emmanuel" Saying "God be with us," a man will be, Through whom hope will return to to all. Mountains and valleys must be prepared, There must be new roads devised; Our God is near, all must come and see And all doors must be opened wide. In a manger Jesus appeared; But the world knows he is born there today; He lives in everyone and is with us now, And with his return brings us liberty. My translation is poor, but the only one I found had the intent changed somewhat; if someone has sheet music, please post the translated lyrics. This carol (villancico), by the modern Catalan composer and choral conductor, Alberto Taulé (died in March. 2007), was sung by the St. Olaf Choir in this year's Christmas program on PBS and is rather widely sung by choral groups. |
