Subject: RE: Dan McKinnon in Oz From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 13 Nov 07 - 12:55 AM well, he'll be appearing at JennyO's club very soon & a friend who saw him at a house concert last week reported he is such a fantastic singer & performer she will also be coming to Jenny's concert. And here's her review! I'm looking forward to the concert. sandra |

Subject: RE: Dan McKinnon in Oz From: George Papavgeris Date: 13 Nov 07 - 03:00 AM You jammy sods! Dan is known as the best singer of Stan Rogers' songs - and he is, undoubtedly. But he is SO much more than that. His own songs will leave you spellbound, his choruses will grab you and his personality will make you fall in love. He's a mate, the brother I don't have. Just younger, better looking and more talented. In every other way I am superior. |

Subject: RE: Dan McKinnon in Oz From: GUEST,Tim frost Date: 14 Nov 07 - 01:38 PM George's notes say it all - so grab the chance to see Dan live . Check with Cloudstreet as John and Nicole came to see Dan supporting Eric Bogle in Holmfirth last year , and what a great evening that was .Enjoy every minute of Dan ... This will be the first of many trips for Dan to Oz and I suggest the National season in early 2009 may tie in well !! |

Subject: RE: Dan McKinnon in Oz From: Sam Hudson Date: 14 Nov 07 - 06:25 PM I'd also echo all the good things about Dan in this thread, especially George's remarks (only I'm younger than my Nova Scotian wish-he-was-my-bro). My only concern is whether Oz can keep Dan supplied with his favourite Bunnahabhain whisky... they'd both be a long way from home. Any Oz Catters reading this thread, do get to see him if you can. There are too few like Dan. |

Subject: RE: Dan McKinnon in Oz From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 24 Nov 07 - 09:37 AM Dan sang a few songs at my folk club tonight & he was a good as everyone says. I'm looking forward to his concert. Well, it really was last night. It's 1.30 Sunday morning & I'm far too awake to get to bed. We've just had the most wonderful evening - a whole night of chorus songs & singing session, with Dan doing 4 songs. We also had continual political interruptions as folk got the latest on the election - the govt is out! The Prime Minister (aka Little Fascist Johnny) even lost his seat - tho my local member, the Minister for building Pulp Mills in pristine places, didn't. bugger. lots of great songs & lots of great political news, what a night. sandra |

Subject: RE: Dan McKinnon in Oz From: JennyO Date: 24 Nov 07 - 10:14 AM Well, anyone who got a taste of him tonight at the Loaded Dog would have to want to come to my folk club tomorrow to see him in concert. They'd be mad to miss out. He won me over, that's for sure! Any Sydney catters reading this who haven't booked - beg, borrow or steal to be there - but whatever you do, don't miss him! It's 2pm at the Cornucopia Cafe in Gladesville. Details are here - Dan McKinnon at North By Northwest |
