Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Ratty Shoes (Blackthorn) From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 06 Jun 07 - 10:11 PM Wait on. It can take quite a while for many of the thousands of people who regularly visit here to find your request, and then it can take some time to track down a reasonable sensible answer to such requests - there are no paid professionals here, just fun loving amateurs. Threads are only displayed for 24 hours, thus many people here regularly refresh threads, even with humourous comments, so that the request can stay on the visible list. Often a humourous conversation carries on at the same time as the 'serious' material is researched and posted. If YOU couldn't find it easily on the web after all your effort, why do you think it will just fall into your lap rapidly - obviously it will take some hard work from those with more experience/skill than you! I will now no longer search for material for people of little brain (and sense of humour) who insult others they do not know. I hope someone else can/will help you now. Remember: you catch more flies with honey than vinegar! |

I know how this site works as I have used it before to not only find lyrics put to post them as well. I will find what I'm looking for with or without anyones help. Sorry again |

Subject: Lyr Add: RATTY SHOES (Blackthorn) From: Jim Dixon Date: 13 Jun 07 - 12:00 PM Found at Blackthorn's web site. (On that page, click "CDs" then "Ratty Shoes" then "lyrics.") RATTY SHOES Words & music by Paul Moore, Johnny Boyce & Mike Boyce 1. I was born into a family not blessed with worldly things. We made out well with what the Lord had chose. With a story and a laugh, the days went rolling past, And I'll tell to you a tale that no one knows. On a holy day one May in a bog near Carnaclay, I laid my swollen head among the yews. My pillow was a rock when I woke up to the shock And found the fairies left these ratty shoes. CHORUS: These ratty shoes, they're gonna take me, Gonna take me from my worry and my woe. These ratty shoes, they'll not forsake me, And the grass beneath my feet will never grow! 2. Well, I staggered from this state and did not hesitate. I laced 'em up and rambled near and far. You may think that I've gone mad, but I swear they're not so bad. Sure they're better than the ones I had before. So I wore them to the ball in the Castlecourt dance hall. To waltz with me the girls would form a queue, And I'd glide around the floor as the crowd would cheer for more. Sure I looked like Flatley wearing ratty shoes. CHORUS 3. Well, I never had to think about a job or pay for drink.. I lived the rover's life from sea to shore; And a wife is not for me. Why buy the cow when milk's for free? And there's whiskey flowing out of every door. When at last I finally woke, found out 'twas all a joke. I shook and shaked the remnants of the booze; But the memory of that dream make me heart just wanna scream: Them brilliant filthy magic ratty shoes! CHORUS [Recorded by Blackthorn on "Ratty Shoes," 2001.] |
