Subject: Lyr Req: Bill Steele's telephone booth song From: johnross Date: 04 Jun 07 - 11:28 PM I'm looking for the lyrics to Bill Steele's song about a long-winded guy in a telephone booth who keeps several other people from doing things. Both the tune and the punchline are "I never will marry." The song is not on either his long-ago LPs (has he recorded anything since then?), and I haven't found it online. Any pointers or other help will be greatly appreciated. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Bill Steele's telephone booth song From: clueless don Date: 05 Jun 07 - 08:59 AM I remember the song you're talking about. Late in the song, some of the lines are, as I recall And now they are married, with children that fly, and it's all on account of that long-winded guy! (This comes about because one of the people waiting to use the telephone booth was Clark Kent.) I have two Bill Steele albums. I think the first is titled "Garbage! and other garbage", and the later one, I *think*, is titled "Chocolate Chip Cookies". I will try to remember to check these when I get home tonight and see if either of them has this song. Don |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Bill Steele's telephone booth song From: johnross Date: 05 Jun 07 - 01:02 PM That's the one. As I noted in my first post, it's not on either of those LPs. I looked before I posted the query. |
