It's a very quiet lovely village, and the pub looks great. I'll be there with my banjo and fiddle as will other members of Foaotmad and friends. Come and play some old time tunes... Cheers Ray |

Subject: RE: UK Old Time - picking w/e nr Rugby From: jonm Date: 06 Jun 07 - 11:28 AM Foaotmad? I'm nearby, and pick guitar and occasional mandolin for an Appalachian dance team. Is this a general invite to all and sundry? |

Subject: RE: UK Old Time - picking w/e nr Rugby From: BanjoRay Date: 06 Jun 07 - 11:54 AM Yes Jonm, it is a general invite to anybody who wants to play or listen to Old Time tunes. This is a first time try-out weekend to see how it goes down, in a very central attractive spot that's easy to get to for most people (the Old Time scene is pretty wide spread, and not as thick on the ground as the folkies). So you're welcome to bring your guitar and mandolin, and any of your dance team who want to do some flatfooting, and come and join us. Cheers Ray |

Subject: RE: UK Old Time - picking w/e nr Rugby From: GUEST,banjoman Date: 06 Jun 07 - 12:24 PM Hi sounds like our sort of thing - if there's room for my small caravan & if there are reasonable facilities as I am a a bit restricted mobility wise but can rattle out the odd tune on the banjo. My missus plays a mean banjo as well as recorder/whistle We will try our best to make it pete & maggie |

Subject: RE: UK Old Time - picking w/e nr Rugby From: BanjoRay Date: 20 Jun 07 - 09:10 AM Penni, who's running the weekend tell me that at least 15 people have told her they're coming, and knowing old timers, most people won't decide until the friday - so it's looking good. The beer festival (same weekend, same pub) sounds interesting - can't wait. Ray |
