The week end June 8-10th sees one of Folk's best kept secrets, Gower Folk Festival taking place in Parkmill Gower. Dance night and the BIG SING in the lovely acoustics of the local chapel on Friday evening, artists include John Dipper band, Tim Laycock, Zoox, Beoga, Svart Cafe. See Gower Folk Festival web site for details; "the biggest little festival in Wales". Hope to see some mudcatters there.

The festival details can be found here

We'll be there, running the song sessions Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes (12:00 start) - anyone want a sing before the concerts start, come early!

Let us know if you're coming.

Survivors' session in The Greyhound (the pub, not the dog) Monday night, for those who can stay.

Andrew & Carole

While they dance the light fantastic on Friday evening, The Chapel will echo to sounds of "The Big Sing" led by Baggyrinkle and singers on the floor, I mean singers from the floor!!

The shantymen will also fill the gap on Sunday - again in the chapel while sound checks are carried out on the festival site.

COME ALL YE!

Little error on my part!

The "Big Sing" is on Sunday. 6.0pm - 7.30pm in the Chapel.

The Friday is a "Come All Ye" also in the Chapel, 8.00pm - 10.30pm.

For the rest of the weekend you can enjoy a fantastic line up of artistes.

See you there!

Baggyrinkle (Swansea Shantymen)

Wouldn't I love to be there Cranedriver! Heard about it too late to change plans now, sorry, and the budget won't stretch to it. But have a great one down there!

Had a superb evening of singing and then we watched the French dancing before making our way home - it's strange being near enough to a festival to come home at night! Pity really though 'cos the views from the camp site are stunning. Back early tomorrow for more.......

A lovely festival in a lovely setting. We all fell in love with the Falabella foal (there were animals there).
High spots for me were Svart Kaffe from Sweden, Zoox, and Ffynnon, an unsung Welsh band led by Lynne Denman (who only sang in 3 languages this time).

Oh and not forgetting Dave Fletcher & Bill Whaley.

Ffynnon are just superb! I really love the great little festival of Gower and its adventurous and visionary booking. Sadly, we were booked at Raglan Festival in Gwent. Hope to see you next year.
