Congratulations, Tom. Quite the line up of performers.

It will be wonderful. Hope you get some encores and a standing O.

Can anyone advise what is happening at Wath - indeed where is it? The website isn't working (something about the site owner's bandwidth has been exceeded). I'm looking for a festival on that weekend - it may just fit the bill. I could do with confirming the location - I'm guessing it's Wath-upon-Dearne, price, facilities etc.

Thanks,

John

Yes, that's right. The website works for me. Click my link above and then the box saying South Yorkshire Festival of Music and Dance. It's all there.

Action is mainly in the Montgomery Hall, a biggish theatre, and up the road in the Sandygate pub where the club meets.

It's a good festival and the line-up is really excellent this year.

Be good to see you there John

Tom

Wath upon Dearne is about 3 miles from Wombwell which is Barnsley although Wath is actually in Rotherham borough

Montgomery Hall nice venue been used for very many years (although mothballed for a time)

Many memories of this festival

Sandygate has a nice Sunday night folk club, it is also an hotel

Festival definitely on

Ray

Oh that Wath Ray, hoped it might have been the Wath in Nidderdale, the one that was served by the Nidd Valley Light Railway,
Cedric

Does anyone know if the Montgomery Hall will be a non-smoking venue? I emailed the contact address on the website weeks ago but haven't had a reply.

Tom any idea of prices? I seem to remember seeing the website some time ago before it went down & thinking it was a bit pricey.
Cheers

I could also do with knowing what the camping situation is: ie where is the camping and so-on.

Thanks,

John

How is Wath pronounced anyway?

The natural way for me would be to rhyme it with "Shah", the way my name is pronounced. Bt I suspect that's wrong.

Wath : Bath : Path, not Warth : Arse etc.

:-)

Doesn't look like we'll go, I still can't get enough information with the website being down and not being able to gather enough information....it was a last minute idea to go anyway - thanks anyway Tom.

We're looking around for a 'Free' festival instead. We managed some of these last year and thoroughly enjoyed them.

The website's up-and-running! A shame it was down before as we've now made our decision to look elsewhere.

Long a or short a? Bath and Path vary according to region.

Hi to everyone

Our website did suffer a few weeks back because the server changed without informing us. Everything should be up & running again by now.
Tickets are doing well & Chris Difford is currently riding at No 11 in the album charts with the "essential Squeeze" album

wath is a small, independantly run & financed festival that's been on the go for 35 years. It is a single stage festival & Montgomery Hall is run by a community trust (& IS a non smoking venue)

The line up is as listed elsewher (& is the best in the area & not one of the best this year)

Come along & see us, I don't think that you'll be dissapointed
