Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: Peace Date: 24 Apr 07 - 11:59 PM Well, I guess you'll find out what your Congress is made of, huh? |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: katlaughing Date: 25 Apr 07 - 12:03 AM Hot damn! Not sure it will happen, but at least someone has the guts to actually file for it. |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: dianavan Date: 25 Apr 07 - 02:50 AM Brilliant! I was always afraid that if Bush were impeached, we'd be stuck with Cheney. This is very smart thinking. Without Cheney, Bush is more than a lame duck. He's a dead duck. Regardless of the cost, it is the duty of Congress to impeach this traitor. It will restore the confidence of Americans and repair the reputation of American justice. |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: George Papavgeris Date: 25 Apr 07 - 02:58 AM Can someone please explain Resolution 333 for us across the water? I agree with dianavan, very clever move to go for Cheney. But as Bruce says, now let's see who stands up to be counted. I think if they fail to pass this, it will not reflect well for the Democrats, come next election. But I am outside things there, so my view could be overly simplistic. Watching with interest... |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: JohnInKansas Date: 25 Apr 07 - 06:47 AM Explanation: 1. Kucinich has declared himself to be a candidate for the Presidency. 2. Obama is possibly the "leading(?)" candidate among Democrats at this time. 3. Kucinich has been critical of Obama on grounds that Obama is willing to "go along with" continuing involvement in Iraq. 4. Kucinich has introduced a "Resolution" which will go nowhere, but which gives hime a "talking point" to claim that he's the "action candidate" who's actually "done something." Quick extract of summary: Kucinick has pissed off the bow of the boat, and is now ready to brag about being somewhat damp. [NOTE: the above is the sarcastic version.] I'd be quite happy to see a real backbone in the Congress, and that Congress would stand up to the Administration as is their duty under the Constitution. A first look at the "Resolution" doesn't give much hope that this is anything other than political posturing for the purpose of getting a brief headline. I hope I'm wrong; but ... John |

|
Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: Rapparee Date: 25 Apr 07 - 09:49 AM Afraid I agree with JiK. It's a political move, not a reality. Even if the House DID agree to any impeachment proceedings the Senate would have to convict -- and there have been two impeachments at that level and NO convictions in two hundred and thirty-one years. I'm afraid that the President or VP could be guilty of raping a convent of nuns, chopping his grandmother into pieces, selling the US back to the British, setting fire to Library of Congress, and peeing in the soup and the Senate would still not convict. |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 25 Apr 07 - 10:37 AM 333 !!!! - so only 'half evil'?!!! Of course, I do know it really should be only 308 since 616 is the 'real original' number.... |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: Peace Date: 25 Apr 07 - 11:18 AM I would expect Kucinich is receiving as much flak from Democrats as he is from Republicans. However, I also think that may change. "When Pelosi arrives at the California Democratic Convention in San Diego on April 28--the same day that activists nationwide will rally for presidential accountability--she'll find on the agenda a resolution that declares that the actions of President Bush and Vice President Cheney "warrant impeachment and trial, and removal from office." Delegates are expected to endorse the measure." from the www. Wouldnt it be nice if we were older Then we wouldnt have to wait so long And wouldnt it be nice to live together In the kind of world where we belong You know its gonna make it that much better When we can say goodnight and stay together Wouldnt it be nice if we could wake up In the morning when the day is new And after having spent the day together Hold each other close the whole night through Happy times together weve been spending I wish that every kiss was neverending Wouldnt it be nice Maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray it might come true Baby then there wouldnt be a single thing we couldnt do We could be married And then wed be happy Wouldnt it be nice You know it seems the more we talk about it It only makes it worse to live without it But lets talk about it Wouldnt it be nice |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: PoppaGator Date: 25 Apr 07 - 12:48 PM Ever heard Kucinich sing "Sixteen Tons"? He'd be well advised to keep his Congressional day job & forget about ever being elected President. |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: Bill D Date: 25 Apr 07 - 12:48 PM They can't impeach Cheney....why, that would force Bush to actually make some decisions on his own! |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: Amos Date: 25 Apr 07 - 12:49 PM The implication, tacitly running through this article, that he does NOT stand with millions of Americans, is misleading and distortive. See the "Declaration of Impeachment" thread which points to a small percentage of those who bleieve Sheny should be impeached and why. Along with his fat-headed manager, W. Or is it the other way 'round? A |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: Peace Date: 25 Apr 07 - 01:45 PM Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich has filed articles of impeachment against Vice President Cheney. The Ohio congressman says Cheney manipulated and fabricated information about weapons of mass destruction to justify the war in Iraq. And he says filing the articles is important because the threat of a war with Iran "is very real." Kucinich says the vice president cannot be allowed to violate the U-S Constitution and the United Nations Charter. The House impeachment process requires the entire chamber to determine whether a panel should start an impeachment inquiry. House speaker Nancy Pelosi has said impeachment is off the table. A spokeswoman for Cheney says the Vice President has served the nation honorably for nearly 40 years and is focused on serious issues. The above is from News4 on the www. Well, we'll see who in the House has stones. |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: PoppaGator Date: 25 Apr 07 - 02:49 PM Amos, I'm pretty sure that Cheney is the real boss ~ if not the Antichrist ~ and that dumbass W is nothing more than his little marionette. |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: Ron Davies Date: 25 Apr 07 - 10:24 PM Amos-- "Wouldn't It Be Nice?" is doo-wop? A whole bunch of doo-woppers are likely to demur. I happen to really like the song--of course I'm not an unbiased observer--I'm really indebted to the Beach Boys for falsetto--otherwise I have a lousy range. But doo-wop it ain't. However, possibly more on topic: saw a great bumper-sticker Sunday: " Cheney/Satan 2008" |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: Amos Date: 26 Apr 07 - 01:13 AM Well, ok, Ron, ok. It's not classic doowop. More like "oo-wah", surf sound. I mis-spoke. A |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: GUEST,Jeff Date: 26 Apr 07 - 11:00 PM Read the article from the Washington Post. It's too bad the writer took such a cynical view. I grew up in Cleveland, Oh and have known of Kucinich since he was on the city council. He's been pulling grandstand stunts like this for years. Screaming at the council president, shaking papers while shouting on the mic in council chambers...all kinds of histrionics. He was mayor for a while. Got elected to congress and has served many terms...he must be doing SOMETHING right, though having not lived there for a long time I haven't followed his development into a national figure. Have seen him interviewed a few times over the years. My perspective is that he's a bit of a madman and pretty marginalized, politically speaking. However, this time I believe the madman's got it right. And he's going after the right guy. Dick Cheney is completely corrupt. Has been a sleazey insider for years. Influence peddling, abuse of power, intimidation...he's got it all. Just the Haliburton connection alone should be enough to convince anyone. Nevermind, the whole Scooter Libby thing. GWB is a dupe, a product of the assumption of privilege. Errand boy for the oil companies. There'll be a little noise, nothing will be done by congress and 100 years from now people will wonder why nobody listened to the crazy congressman from Ohio when the evidence was so clear. |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: Donuel Date: 26 Apr 07 - 11:52 PM Cheney says bin Laden tried to assisinate him in Afghanistan. Couldn't we just let nature take its course with Dick? but what about the most noble American family who has given devoted service to: the CIA, the executive branch - three times, the Senate once, two govenorships, the executive security board for the WTC, Silverado Bank, the silver haired matriarch who said Katrina victims never had it so good, the grandpa who invested heavily in 3rd Reich industries and friends in good standing with Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emerites and the bin Laden family...? (Drums with brush on cymbals) The Bush Bros. ............... Way out west, in Connecticutt came the big Bush brothers in their short brush cuts They sell snake oil an they pump their gas but Whenever they're Washington, Iraq's attacked fast. If you're in, their gas station Everything is fixed with privitiz zation They say the lord tells'em what to do but their self service pump, says fuck yourself too Chorus: Can they fix our schools NO NO NO Can they fix our air NO NO NO Ya know damn well they can't fix our oceans, The only thing they fix are our elections ........................................ For the rest of my song and a hundred more You cud see my website but it ain't no mo Someone said it was inflammatory so they went and erased it, its the same ol story. |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: M.Ted Date: 27 Apr 07 - 12:48 PM For those who have better things to do than follow the political career of "Dennis the Menace"--the impeacher was himself impeached, or more accurately, recalled. Back in 1978, when he was Mayor of Cleveland, he was the subject of the city's first ever recall election--which he won, by about 200 votes. He is listed as one of the ten worst big-city mayors of all time in the book, " Best and Worst of the Big-City Leaders 1820-1993"--for reasons of temperament and performance--owing to his propensity for rash acts, and a tendency to grandstand- |

Subject: RE: BS: Resolution 333 filed to Impeach Cheney From: Rapparee Date: 28 Apr 07 - 10:25 AM I was living outside Kent back in 1978 when Dennis was mayor of Cleveland. He didn't impress me any more than Geraldo Rivera did by chasing a pimp down the streets of Akron. Both grandstanders with little or no substance. Cheney might be impeached, but not through the actions of Dennis K. |
