Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Vera Lynn From: DougR Date: 22 Mar 07 - 01:21 PM No way could Jo Stafford be 90! Come to think of it, though, I just turned 77, so it could be true. I enjoyed the music of both ladies. DougR |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Vera Lynn From: Ebbie Date: 22 Mar 07 - 01:50 PM Question: I remembered that I first heard 'You Belong to Me' sung by Patti Page but since then I have been told that it was first recorded by Jo Stafford. That link doesn't show the song on Jo Stafford's list but it is on Patti Page's- and it was great to hear it again. But tell me: Did Jo Stafford record You Belong to Me? |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Vera Lynn From: bobad Date: 22 Mar 07 - 02:48 PM Ebbie On the Jo Stafford page in the bottom right hand corner it says "Go to Page Two for more Jo Stafford" there you will find "You Belong To Me". It may not show up very clearly as the page layout execution was faulty and a black line runs through the words, but if you highlight it, it will show up. |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Vera Lynn From: Ebbie Date: 22 Mar 07 - 02:58 PM Thanks, bobad. Just now I went to Page Two and saw the song title. As it happens, none of the links on that page are working but at least, given the song title, I now know that Stafford recorded it. |
