Although it is the music that captured my heart, here, ive put it down here for the time being - If it's the wrong place, plse move it.

Found this on youtube ... if you were in the UK and remember your school summers hols, i wonder if this had as much impact on you as it did on me ...
Robinson Crusoe

I can hear it in my head without even having to log on (which is just as well because something is wrong with our sound card and it doesn't like playin vids)!!

It was always on in the mornings along with 'White Horses' and cartoons.

It immediately evokes memories of sunny warm (not excessively hot) days in the garden, playing in the river, Walls Icecream bricks, warm orange squash and Dalek icelollies - creamy mint and chocolate flavours - yes, I'm weird.

Yes,both the original theme music & incidental music from this series are seared on to my brain.Likewise "White Horses" & ""Champion,The Wonder Horse"
I read a recent interview with Actor & Writer Mark Gatiss in which he stated he had 2 enduring memories of his Sixties & Seventies childhood which he felt ought to have been mutually exclusive, one was of playing outside all day & every day and the other was of having watched far too much Television.
Mutually exclusive or not, having been a child in that era myself,I have exactly the same recollection.

Well, curiously enough, Cerys Matthews has just done a cracking version of "White Horses" on this album http://www.musicomh.com/albums/young-at-heart_0207.htm and Stuart Murdoch from Belle And Sebastian does a track too.

Jackie Lee (as "Jacky") had a top 10 hit in 1968 with "White Horses"
In 1971 she also had a top 30 hit with the theme from "Rupert The Bear"
She had a very pleasing voice as I recall.
Anybody remember her?

I hate(d) the theme tune to White Horses - too too sachariney for my tastes, I'm afraid

of course that was before the Kajagoogoo years.

no wonder we used to look forward to the cigarette adverts, they were the best produced things on telly.

I remember the Flashing Blade. It inspired my elder brother to repeatedly come after me with a stick in the belief he was the finest swordsman in all France.
Fortunately,we were in England.
New season of Doctor Who in 2 weeks, the only T.V.Programme I loved as a child which I still do.

Ah, the Flashing Blade!! I remember it, but not as well as I remember those bloody white horses!

I grew up in the country, so horses were a part of life - my mother and grandfather had grown up working with them and there were at least 8 girls in my class who had access to a riding pony. Every girl between 6 and 12 was fanatic about horses, ponies, saddles, johdpurs and riding crops... hell, they even liked mucking out!

I hate horses.

I love most things with four legs, but horses are not on the list. I'd rather have a warthog than a horse. Even a rat is more acceptable to me than a horse.

During the week we had 'White Horses' and at the weekends that bloody 'Black Beauty'...

I was soo glad when 'Dukes of Hazzard' started!
