Subject: RE: Review: Bluehorses (folkrockceltiquemetalgoth!) From: Grab Date: 09 Mar 07 - 11:00 AM Is that a classic bit of understatement, Richard? :-) Blue Horses rock, plain and simple. I made a point of seeing them at Broadstairs a few years ago when they were there, on the basis of a song of theirs I'd heard on Mike Harding. They were every bit as good as I'd expected, and more. Sure, might not be to everyone's tastes - certainly a shortage of acoustic instruments on stage! ;-) But if you like folk-rock, get out and see them if they come round your way. Graham. |

Subject: RE: Review: Bluehorses (folkrockceltiquemetalgoth!) From: Richard Bridge Date: 09 Mar 07 - 04:21 PM I also thought more people might like the opportunity to hear them, and that it might go some way to leavening the general view of me as a hard core Aran Sweater with a finger in each ear (shit, who's playing the guitar?) |

Subject: RE: Review: Bluehorses (folkrockceltiquemetalgoth!) From: GUEST,Cragrat Date: 10 Mar 07 - 02:26 PM The worst folk-rock band I've ever seen. Never let your drummer write the songs! |

Subject: RE: Review: Bluehorses (folkrockceltiquemetalgoth! From: Les in Chorlton Date: 11 Mar 07 - 04:48 AM This seems a good place to mention the exceptional Duncan McFarlane Band and the Demon Barbers. Strong on tradition, strong on song-writing and they rock! Oh and Bluehorses - I really enjoyed them, thanks Richard |

Subject: RE: Review: Bluehorses (folkrockceltiquemetalgoth!) From: Phot Date: 11 Mar 07 - 05:26 AM After having a listen, I now have a new name on my CD wish list! They remind me of Oysterband, and list Blowzabella in their influences which can never be a bed thing! Wassail!! Chris. |

Subject: RE: Review: Bluehorses (folkrockceltiquemetalgoth!) From: GUEST,Nat Date: 16 Mar 07 - 08:32 PM I first found them through reading the MOJO magazine album of the month review and have seen them at a few festivals since and they always seem to be the band everyones talking about. They put on a really good rock and roll show, CDs are good too, but not quite as rocky as live, unlike their dvd which is very rocky... and live!. |
