Subject: Saturday Night SAR in Doncaster From: Carol Date: 08 Jan 07 - 06:03 AM Have I missed this somewhere on the Cat? I did try searching for it but couldn't find anything. Anyhow just in case anyone is interested there's a singaround starting every Saturday evening at 8.30 pm in the Three Horse Shoes, Doncaster, DN5 9AG and the contact phone numbers are Derek on 01302 328756 or John on 01302 367302. Should be worth trying. |

The organisers and landlady were very welcoming indeed. The singaround area is one of three "rooms" just off the bar circulating area, accessed through a small archway (no door) and relatively free of permeating smoke - except that there was one chap who smoked in the room itself during the evening (two other participants considerately went away out into the bar area to smoke). The chap running the night said he would be able to sort it for next time if it was causing anyone a problem, so I won't give up hope. But I did wake up with quite a sore throat this morning... (Seriously - roll on 1st July. I'd better start saving up for the extra petrol to get to all those clubs I'll be able to revisit!) |

I really do hope to get there this Saturday, although I'm getting a visitor who's not a 'folkie', hoping to drag her along!! Did anyone mention the smoking 'thing'e.g. the MC - I wondered if the organiser would consider putting up a notice asking for consideration for the singers etc., you would think the one person would have 'taken the hint'!!! |
