Anyone out there with the words (but more importantly) and chords to two John Williamson songs:

The first is called "The Bush Barber"

The second is called (I think) "Old Bush Town": It starts

"Oh I do like a walk in an old bush town / up and down every gully and hill . . . .

Here's John Williamson's web site. He has posted lyrics, chords, and sound samples for a list of 20 songs, but unfortunately not the ones you requested.

THE BUSH BARBER appears on "Home among the Gum Trees," 1984; and his 2-CD "best of" album "True Blue."

BUSH TOWN appears on "Laugh Along," 1998; and on "True Blue" where it's called BUSH TOWN (THE LAWNMOWER SONG). Is that the song you want?

This information might not help much, but at least it will serve to refresh the thread.

Reckon it might be "chooks" rather than "jocks"....

And a "Grosse Lisse" is a variety of tomato.

To all who answered; my apologies for tardiness: Various issues (too many to mention) have kept me away from the Mudcat.

However, I wish to thank everyone who contributed - especially "cnd" who tried to make sense of the Lawnmower Song. It was that "sneaky feet etc" line I could never decipher. I have written it all down now but still need to find chords for both songs. However, for future reference, here's the amended lyrics to The Lawnmower Song.

Hey 'catters

it's been a long while thanks to an illness that nearly cost me my leg, an ice-addicted child, two parental deaths and finally a wife who suddenly decided she no longer wished to be married and that I was "surplus to requirements" - - - and hence a divorce, homelessness etc. fun Times.

So has ANYONE got the chords to those two songs???
