Well, I have to admit "you done my brain in" with that bit of news Blowz! I`m sure that from your "pink half of the drainpipe" the world is looking pretty good now eh! Bet your sitting there thinking "look at me I`m wonderful". Well let me tell you......your no "super showbiz star" just cos you got tickets to see the Bonzos!! Grrrrrrrr!!!! I must admit I would have liked to see "Val Doonican as himslef" though. And please do say "Hello Mabel if you`re able" to see her there. Anyway, I suppose I will just have to take up a "masculine sport" followed by a " nize colt showah" so I can get over not being there too! however, at the end of the day, I have only one thing to say "No, no, please, not the leg!" |

Subject: RE: I'm Going to See the Bonzos!!!!! From: BanjoRay Date: 08 Nov 06 - 08:54 PM Great stuff. One of the best nights I remember back in the sixties was seeing the Bonzos in a night club in Cardiff, when Viv Stanshall and Legs Larry Smith came to share our table between bits of their act. Incredibly funny guys. Ray |

Subject: RE: I'm Going to See the Bonzos!!!!! From: Splott Man Date: 09 Nov 06 - 11:34 AM Saw them in Cardiff last Monday. Neil innes started by saying "we've never done a slick show, and don't intend to start now." How true, but magical all the same. Ade Edmonson & Phil Jupitus were superb additions. The theremin leg still works though the trouser-leg cased for it has obviously been lost to time. They did almost all of Gorilla in no particular order, plus loads of other favourites. Worth every penny. |

Subject: RE: I'm Going to See the Bonzos!!!!! From: GUEST Date: 09 Nov 06 - 02:11 PM WOW! Where will they be? I've seen Neil Innes alone in NYC and he was spectacular! I agree with a previous poster here, Innes is brilliant. Has anyone here heard the BBC radio show he did a while back called "Innes Own Mind", I think. It's hysterical. I Can't even begin to imagine what the whole band be would be like. Enjoy! Gary |

Subject: RE: I'm Going to See the Bonzos!!!!! From: Splott Man Date: 10 Nov 06 - 12:34 PM In Cardiff... "...a punk stopped me on the street, he said, have you got a light, Mac? I replied... Whose coat is that jacket?" "Whose coat is that jacket?" is a well known Wenglish phrase round these parts. |

Subject: RE: I'm Going to See the Bonzos!!!!! From: Blowzabella Date: 11 Nov 06 - 11:16 AM Well - it was brilliant - well worth it. The Bonzos were barking, as ever, Neil Innes superb, Ade Edmondson fitted in as if he'd been born to it - and gave a lovely lovely tribute to Viv. I was not keen on Phil Jupitus at all, though. He seemed to be in a really bad mood. |
