Hi,
A musician friend of mine (in the UK) is looking to buy a small harmonium to use on gigs with his band. It must be reasonably portable so he is not interested in the large American types. He also does not want one of the Asian lap organs. If anyone has one to sell, or knows the whereabouts of one, please could they PM me.
Thanks in advance,
Richard Ashe (Dick The Box)

The military version, circa 1950-1975, is solid, portable (20Kg), cheap, and generally (as expected) stained olive-green.

Seek and ye shall find. There are thousands upon thousands.

Sincerely,
Gargoyle

I always wondered how you could lose a harmonium in the first place - you'd have to be even more careless than I am with capos and picks :-)

i tried to rescue a turn of 19th/20th Century military/missionary portable harmonium
that had been badly stored in a damp garage
[paid £10 to get it away from its neglectfull owner]

sadly, i recently had to dispose of it

[cidered up midnight raid to a local builders skip after a long night being nagged by the wife to get rid of it..]

because even though I'd kept it in a dry room for a couple of years
it was still too badly infested with health hazardous fungal moulds
and the wooden case and leather bellows too rotted and split
to make restoration a safe cost effective alternative..

anyway.. its possible to buy new chinese made portable foot bellows harmoniums..

i saw one recently on ebay
[could have been a 'salvation army' style folding in 'suitcase' harmonium]
but it was far to expensive for me to consider..

I think
http://www.hobgoblin.com
used to sell them

and about the same time, few years ago, they were also stocked
by an American early music/world instruments internet shop..
cant remeber the name right now.. but a US equivalent to Hobgoblin
