Subject: RE: Paltalk - anyone here still do it? From: jacko@nz Date: 14 Oct 06 - 06:57 PM About a month back I reinstalled Paltalk and I've been watching out for folks. I still have a pal list of about 30 mudcatters but dwditty and Dave TAM are the only ones I've seen logged in. I joined up for Laurel's Yahoo room a couple of weeks ago but no sign of anything happening Jack aka scalliwag |

Subject: RE: Paltalk - anyone here still do it? From: Uncle_DaveO Date: 15 Oct 06 - 02:32 PM What's with the Yahoo room? didn't know they had a sound chat. How do you access it, and how is the sound? I get into Pal maybe two days a month, to whatever "LIVE" acoustic room may be open. I stick around long enough to go through the lines and sing maybe three times. When I see Frank's notice that his Pal room is open, if I am timely I'll try to get there. Always a great time. Dave Oesterreich |

(_"open"_) i have not tried the yahoo room yet.. it works best with at least 24 hours notice to get the word out about the pal talk room, I have found. i used to regualry have 10-20+ people i there and that made it fun..then i sort of drifted away...is it because i an A.D.D.? or A.A.D.D.? in any case i do not seem to sit still as much as i used to... |

Subject: RE: Paltalk - anyone here still do it? From: jacko@nz Date: 16 Oct 06 - 03:08 AM I guess I must have missed something, open mike. I thought you had the room underway on Yahoo. Not to worry, I just caught up with songdog in a new paltalk room: Shinnys Folk Shack Unfortunately I didn't have long in there but it did remind me of the old paltalk room Jack aka scalliwag |

Subject: RE: Paltalk - anyone here still do it? From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 16 Oct 06 - 08:26 AM Yahoo - you don't really even need a room - you can do a Talk (mic needed) conference - with or without a webcam. 1) You need a Yahoo ID, then you need to get a list of friends who let you know when they are online by setting their profile appropiately 2) There is no current Yahoo room category "Folk Music"... or "Live Music"... or "Acoustic Music", etc... 3) you need one person in the Chat Room (like the old Paltalk Room) at the time and name advertised. 4) If you want to do a Conference, then you will need an agreed time, and a list of people whose IDs you know to invite them in -different from "Caht Room"... 5) I thought this was what the Yahoo Group was to be for... to advertise the details in a semi-private manner. |

Subject: RE: Paltalk - anyone here still do it? From: John Hardly Date: 18 Oct 06 - 07:10 PM I noticed since I reinstalled both paltalk and skype on my new computer that paltalk is still limited by one voice at a time set-up and skype is limited by 5 to a room set-up but all five can sing, play, chat, whatever at the same time. |
