Subject: RE: Download pdf tune files From: Ernest Date: 02 Oct 06 - 07:35 AM Did anyone notice that Nr. 108 on the site given by Bente was composed by one Otto Trads? I`ve seen many of trads tunes on the net, but nobody else seemed to know the mans first name.... ;0) Best Ernest |

Subject: RE: Download pdf tune files From: bfdk Date: 02 Oct 06 - 08:38 AM LOL, Ernest.. Trads is - granted - not a very common surname in Denmark, but as per this year there are still 117 of them (source: Denmark Statistics). In comparison, 58 Danes bear the first name of Ernest :-) And 42 others share MY surname with me.. Otto Trads (1905-89), by the way, was a famous fiddler from the northern part of Denmark (Himmerland) and a member of "Rebild Spillemændene". I can't find much about him online, but there's a little here. Best wishes, Bente |

Subject: RE: Download pdf tune files From: GUEST,Jack Campin Date: 02 Oct 06 - 08:50 AM The Ceilidh Soc website would have us believe that The Athole Highlanders was composed by one Kevin Briggs. Hmm. |

Subject: RE: Download pdf tune files From: JohnB Date: 02 Oct 06 - 11:30 PM Best ever value for money is the "Greene Tune Book" at the bottom of the page. I tell evereybody I meet who wants tunes to download that one. Came across it a couple of years back on another Mudcat thread. That was after I bought the green and the blue tunebooks during a trip to the UK. JohnB |

Subject: RE: Download pdf tune files From: Paco Rabanne Date: 04 Oct 06 - 08:22 AM Yep, downloaded and printed it too. The tune index for the main section is easy to use too, just found 'Brafferton Village' in about 0.0003 seconds. |

Subject: RE: Download pdf tune files From: RangerSteve Date: 04 Oct 06 - 09:54 PM Thanks for three great sites in one thread. I should be asleep, but I didn't have any luck, so I came downstairs and visited the Mudcat instead. For once, my insomnia has been rewarded. |
