Subject: BS: Thanks for your thots & prayers From: Slag Date: 27 Sep 06 - 05:15 PM Dear Mudcatters, thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers. I enjoy you all regardless of political fences and some of our rollicking debates. I want you to know that my father passed this thursday last. I haven't been on line much because of events leading up to his passing and now I'm helping my Mom (80) cope with the aftermath. My father, Bob Carter, was just 2 months shy of his 86th birthday. He had always been extreemly healthy up until the end of July and for that and many other things I am thankful. He is home with the Lord and we have God's peace about this. I hope to join the fray soon again. I miss all you guys! Thanks again for all your prayers, good thoughts and concerns. Slag (Tom) |

Subject: RE: BS: Thanks for your thots & prayers From: Divis Sweeney Date: 27 Sep 06 - 07:27 PM Slag, You have memories and no one can ever take these away from you. We all remember those kids at school who lost their fathers at a young age. So you were like myself, we both got them to a full age, my dad died at 87. Support your mum with stories about this great man in your life and your pride will help her through this time. Thoughts and best wishes from Ireland Divis |

Subject: RE: BS: Thanks for your thots & prayers From: jacqui.c Date: 28 Sep 06 - 08:52 AM Condolences Slag. Sometimes it helps just to talk about a loved one who has died and it can be that the people around you want you to put those feelings away and 'move on'. If you get the need to talk about what your Dad meant to you you know that there is always a place here where people will listen. |

Subject: RE: BS: Thanks for your thots & prayers From: Slag Date: 04 Oct 06 - 02:55 AM Thank you all, God bless you all. I am diminished by the loss but replenished by your heartfelt responses. I know how blessed I have been to have had my Dad for so long. You who have experienced such loss (and I know that is probably most of you) certainly know that it is a unique feeling. And I know you empathize. I also understand that even those who don't post condolences because they perhaps don't know me, may also share my loss and that's why I thank you ALL for you kind thoughts too. Mudcatters, a good crowd! |
