Subject: Review: Railroad Earth: way cool acoustic gp. From: Elmer Fudd Date: 06 Aug 06 - 06:33 PM I recently heard the group, Railroad Earth (name taken, I presume, from the Jack Kerouac poem, "From the Railroad Earth"). It is a six-person acoustic band playing original songs. They sound mighty fine. They are fresh and unique, not quite bluegrass, not quite rock 'n roll. The closest comparison would be to say that if the Grateful Dead played acoustic instruments during their Workingman's Dead/American Beauty era, it might sound a bit like this--just a little. (Apparently Phil Lesh jams with them on occasion.) You can hear a clip at their Myspace site: Railroad Earth Myspace and check out their website: Railroad Earth website Who knows? You might like them too. Elmer |

Subject: RE: Review: Railroad Earth: way cool acoustic gp. From: Elmer Fudd Date: 06 Aug 06 - 06:38 PM For some reason, the blue clicky to the Myspace site spaces out. I tried re-blickify, with no luck. However, you can get to Myspace from the homepage of Railroad Earth website. That blue clicky in the original post does the trick. Elmer |
