We will have Danny O'Flaherty, of Connemara then New Orleans, here in Connecticut the last weekend of August, and would love to line up another gig or two for him in the area (say, Boston to NY, or in MA or even southern VT or NH). Any ideas?

Plenty of ideas - check into The Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry, check into places in Newburyport, Mass, check into places in Peterborough NH, and so on across the southern tier of NH. Sadly, this is the "Folk Belt" so lots of places are booked well in advance (but lots of places have open mikes too)

Look at "Music for Robin" & then try Billy Hocket (Robin's mother) that calender handles mostly Irish music, you might also try Brian O'Donovan of WUMB's (or is it WERS) "Celtic Connections". Both of these people may be very helpful & would you tell them both that I say Hi.
Barry

Thanks, Barry and BuckMulligan.
Susan, did not know there was a looking-for-gigs permathread, just the who's-touring-where one, sorry.
Vixen, we are planning a daytime event in New London with currachs, rowing teaching and demonstration and a mini-regatta on the New London waterfront on August 26, and it will include a concert by Danny (who is an avid rower himself), and some related events. We would love to line him up with one or two other things while he is here, probably Thurs-Sun but flexible, and no doubt longer if something can be lined up.

And is there a way I have not yet found to locate a PermaThread? There must be a list somewhere. When I searched for "permathread" all that turned up were postings mentioning permathreads.

You might want to contact mary lou and Charlie at   http://www.ossianusa.com/They are really fine folks who regularly present Irish musicians at Ossian's Loft -- Tom

For those Mudactters who don't already know him, Danny is one of America's jewels! (We claim him now). He is gifted singer and a magnetic performer with a way of passing on his love for culture and history.

I get to see him every now and then in my travels and I always look forward to it. Good luck with getting some dates booked, Celtaddict. And please give Danny my best.

Thanks, Jed, I will.
And my first two of your CDs were gifts from Danny; obviously he esteems you also! (The third was a gift from his brother Patrick.)
