There are, or were, two excelent chippies in Skipton - One on each side of the canal. We were nearly kicked out of one though for dancing in singing

"Harry Ramsdens, Harry Ramsdens, Ramsdens Ramsdens, Harry Harry..."

Guess they just don't like music:-)

I wouldn't get of in Barnoldswick either. They probably play banjoes there. Like in Deliverance.

(I'm jelous really)

Cheers and have a lovely time.

:D (tG)

We had some good sessions on the Canal when we did it a few years back - But We DID take our own musicians and singers ! The Hole in the Wall at Foulridge made us VERY welcome ! . And watch out for Musical BWB men ! We met up with a lad who plays for Appalachian Clog , he and a couple of his mates joined us for an evening ! Have a good cruise!!

Is a non musical BWB man preferable to a Musical one?

'The Ship'at Haskayne has a folk(ish) club on a Thursday night + usually 2 cask beers. I believe there is a folk club on a Monday at 'The Red Lion' at Newburgh ( about 1m from the canal at Parbold). PM Mark Dowding for details. Also see Folk North West .
Cheers
Les

Just remembered, Maghull folk club on a Tuesday is by the canal. The Wigan Folk Club (Thurs) may be as well. See the Folk North West link.
Cheers
