Subject: Tune Req: Music stores in NYC...

Would anyone know of any music stores in NYC that sell Irish folk records / CDs / cassettes? Or websites?

I'm specifically looking for "Kevin Barry & Other Great Irish Rebel Ballads". It is a compilation CD with many songs sung by Declan Hunt released thru Outlet (IRB1920CD). I'm trying to make my own collection of Declan, Johnny, Shay songs, including the Battering Ram CD, I'm at 44 songs.

I know soundsirish.com was selling Outlet stock but that website does not seem to working now.

I've actually found no other songs / records by Shay and only 1 from Johnny. Most of the songs I have are sung by Declan.

Any help finding other recordings would be great.

Thanks
Ryan

As I understand from Shay the rerelease of the Battering Ram nets them no money at all from Rounder. Haven't seen Shay now in about 5 years now, it's been a lot longer since I've seen the rest.
Decky used love to sing Arlo Guthrie's "Coming Into Los Angeles", don't know why. Quite a good singer as is Shay & Johnny. The only tape I have of that bunch, sorry Declans not on it. It was after Declan went back home. On it are Shay Walker, Johnny Beggin, Johnny Mullins & Greg Cotter. I'm don't remember what's on that tape except an Aussie song "Swag All On My Shoulder" & a great version of Nancy Whiskey called "The Longford Weaver" both sung by Greg. I can probably dig it up & check it out but it was after Declan was gone & I know he's not on it. I believe it was a copy of a practice that Shay gave me because I was looking for those 2 above mentioned songs. the tape probably goes back 15-20 years.
Good Luck
Barry

Hi iBill
you may want to put a different title to your thread so people can get a better idea of what you're after.
Good Luck
Barry
