Greetings All,

Our third annual Music in the Mountains will again be the last weekend in July this year. The main goings on will be Saturday, July 29th, beginning with a barbeque in the afternoon, a public "session" type performance in our meeting hall to raise monies for the families struggling financially in the area in the early evening, and then a mighty session on our porch until we see the Sun cast its first light through the woods, the screech owls sound their last call, and the turkeys leave their roost or the whiskey runs out, whichever comes first. However if you are traveling through you are welcome to come by before Saturday, just let me know.

Last year we had near a dozen and a half musicians and there were about two dozen new tunes swapped through out the evening. My lovely bride kept the pint and whiskey glasses full and the food coming through out all the goings on. Her hospitality is still touted by those in attendance, I have indeed been blessed to have her on my walk with me. Accommodations will be provided by ourselves and others in the community. They are not luxurious by any stretch as these Summer cottages were built in the later nineteenth century, but they are comfortable with all the modern conveniences like electricity, beds, running hot water, showers, and flushing (well most days anyway) toilets.

If you find yourself in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pennsylvania area at the end of July by all means come by. If you wish to stay please let me know so that I can arrange the necessary accommodations. I am reachable by telephone at (201) 424-6141 or by email at Ed at Liscune dot Com although the phone would be best to use after Wednesday that week as I do not have a computer up there.

I hope you can join us!

Peace,
Ed

For clarification purposes as the question has been asked:

I participate in the traditional Irish music genre so the music, albeit not exclusively, will mostly be the traditional music of Ireland, both songs and tunes.

Peace,
Ed

Well given the recent turn of events we are going to give the money raised towards helping our neighbors recover from the flooding that has occurred in the area. If you want to be a part of this effort email or call me. I would be most grateful if you could spread the word so as to make this event as successful and helpful as we can for our neighbors! Thank you.

Peace,
Ed

Sounds like a great event and a good cause! Too bad we'll be away then.

Rats, I have to go to a family member's wedding. Glad to hear that this is an annual event, though. Is there an event website?

I have enough difficulty trying to post on message boards such as this one, running a web site is completely beyond my scope of understanding. Truth be told, most things seem to be that way these days.

We try to always schedule this event for the last weekend in July so perhaps you can join us next year. Enjoy the wedding and please send my best wishes to the happy couple.

Peace,
Ed
