From: The Admiral Date: 16 Jun 06 - 08:03 AM A little bird has told me that Skipy and Kate have been invited to a soiree at the Houses of Parliament next Monday (19th). I can't think why unless it's because of their efforts for Folk for MS ?! As you may imagine there's lots of excitement in the Skipy household and desperate hunting for a new dress (for Skipy that is) - not too mention the hat! All joking apart, congratulations to you for all your exertions for Charity in the past and thanks for this years Concert (it was great). It's about time that you got some recognition after all these years. One last thing Skipy, absolutely NO NMD on site, unless you want to be chased by the Sergeant at Arms, just remember, he's the guy in the silk tights! Thanks for all the fun! |

The firm I worked for had a firm of solicitors with a connection to Westminster and I went to a couple of cocktail parties there. It's rather nice on a warm summer's evening, to take a glass of wine on the terrace overlooking the Thames although these days I reckon you might have to watch out for rotten eggs and squashy tomatoes being lobbed from passing boats, such seems to be the dissatisfaction with the performance of our 'leaders'. The tour is definitely worth taking but DON'T sit on the benches in the Commons - the only bums that are allowed to sit there are the duly elected ones! Have fun Skipy. |

It is older than the Brit/English one and is Norse in origin. The oldest parliament in the world, I've been told. Tynwald, or something like that. |
