Subject: BS: I Saw it in the Comics! From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 11 Jun 06 - 06:31 PM I often see Comics that are worth mentioning, but are not really suitable for a "Joke Thread" as they would need lots of textual explanations. They really needed something to set them apart, and being inspired by the "I Read it in the Newspaper" thread, I decided that they should now have a separate thread of their own. Most of these will probably not hang around for long, due to the nature of the way they are put on the Net, so get them while you can! I'm not going to waste the space of setting up clickys for all of them, so just copy and paste to your browser. http://www.comics.com/comics/reality/archive/reality-20060606.html |

Subject: RE: BS: I Saw it in the Comics! From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 11 Jun 06 - 08:49 PM Well, Bill, I HAD intended it as a place to just post the really good one offs that 'get me' from time to time ... |
Subject: RE: BS: I Saw it in the Comics! From: Bill D Date: 11 Jun 06 - 08:59 PM that one I posted was in that category for me....and 87% of Tom Toles hits me that way. I shall refrain from general categories, though. |
Subject: RE: BS: I Saw it in the Comics! From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 11 Jun 06 - 09:21 PM If you find a good source, then listing the Index or Home URL as well is OK when you find a good individual one. I can often trace back to the home page from an individual url, but many people don't know that trick. |

Subject: RE: BS: I Saw it in the Comics! From: Stilly River Sage Date: 11 Jun 06 - 10:44 PM Great spin-off from the newspaper thread. (I just wish it still looked like I started it. After the crash it looks like you started it!) I have a few cartoons that I've posted links to in the past from Pulitzer Prize winner David Horsey. Today's is a case in point. SRS |

Yahahahahahaha! ~~~~~ *** The Underpants Gnomes Master Plan (from South Park) Step 1 - Collect Lots of Underpants. Step 3 - Take Over The World! What's Step 2? We haven't worked that part out yet... |

Subject: RE: BS: I Saw it in the Comics! From: Stilly River Sage Date: 12 Jun 06 - 02:00 PM Here's your link: http://www.comic-news.com. This looks like a subscription site. My local paper is a free subscription one, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Instead of a link there I'll point you to my childhood newspaper, the Seattle P.I.. It doesn't have a subscription policy (so far) and you can choose a lot of funny-page cartoons there. SRS |
Subject: RE: BS: I Saw it in the Comics! From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 12 Jun 06 - 05:55 PM Stilly River Sage Thanks for you sies - but I did say that I was mainly looking for the brillant 'one-off' cartoons... As I said before, I (and I can type the HTML code in my sleep) won't be putting any URLS in links - it just chews server space. Open Mike had noticed that. People are welcome to put any URLs THEY add in links if they want... |
