I went to the Ceilidh at "Festival of the Peak" on Friday night, and watching the keyboard player reminded me of Beryl Marriott trying to teach us to play folk keyboard in the upper room at the Friary in Beverley.

Is she still going strong? As someone said in the Dave Brady thread, often you only think about these people when they're gone.

It's about 15 or more years since I crossed paths with Beryl. I remember one time going out on the Helga Maria at Whitby with a crowd including Beryl.
No idea if she's still on the go, but this will take the thread back to the top of the list.
Quack!
Geoff the Duck.

Beryl has suffered from poor health in recent years but is still with us! Indeed she reviewed James Ross's CD in the current issue of Engliah Dance and Song magazine.

Glad to see Dereks posting, I was only talking about Beryl at the weekend. I have played a few gigs with her, crackin player - you ought to hear her play Jazz - which she says she can't too!

I've not seen her for ages either!

Has anyone a contact address for her? She did hand it out at the Beverley workshop, but I've moved house since then!
