Subject: BS: Brahma Beer From: Dave the Gnome Date: 08 Jun 06 - 04:25 AM I have seen this expensive and very hyped beer in the shops for months now. Last night I decided to try it. I wish I hadn't bothered. Whereas Bud is cold fizzy and tastes of nothing, this is cold fizzy and tastes awful:-( What a coup for the marketing men though! Managing to sell it as 'Brizils best kept secret'. I wish they would have kept it a bit longer. What am I comparing it to? My favourites? In order: Black sheep bitter. Robinsons mild. Leffe brun. Lovely girls in the ads though. Ironically, where I grew up the word Brahma was a synonym for marvellous. |

Real Czech Budweiser (Budvar) is well worth looking out for, especially if it's on draught. I'm still astonished at the nerve of the Yank Budweiser people buying up a sponsorship deal with a World Cup held in Germany. The ads are funny enough - but that slogan about "We do the beer, you do the football" is laughable. |

It wasn't 'bad', but was still just a plain lager...if it was not very fresh, it could easily go from tolerable to nasty VERY fast. |
