Well, of course, the Middlewich Folk & Boat Festival is coming up this month, but there are also other events going on this month in and around the town.
Notably this Saturday, June 10th, at 12 noon in the town centre you can see Dear Gregory, Dulaman and Simon Cliff in a Folk & Roots Showcase.

Is there not something called the Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival on around that time. I hear it is usualy one of the best festivals around ,in particular the excellent fringe.

Well..er....my first post did mention the Middlewich Folk & Boat Festival, but there are other threads on Mudcat concerning that. The point I was making was that there are also other folky things going on in and around Middlewich during June and all the year round
Our website at www.salttownpoets.co.uk has loads of info about the festival, as well as links to the festival website and those of a good few of the artists taking part.

You could try www.midfest.org.uk too of course.

Please excuse the lack of blue clickys. Technofear precludes my trying again and again appearing technically inept.

Well guess what? I have to apologise folks - the earlier threads on Middlewich 2006 seem to have disappeared, possibly due to the great Mudcat meltdown a while back..
So can I just refer you all back to the earlier postings in this thread for info. on Middlewich 2006?

ta.

Well here it is from the horses mouth! Mainstage, Mike McGoldrick and his band, Hazel o COnnor, The Levellers are back, Dave Pegg and PJ Wright, Jonathan Kelly - yes THE JK! A Womans' Word featuring Karine Polwart (who also solo's in her own concert) The Dylan Project.... and fringe, too many to mention, I will have a go at the blue clicky thing! www.midfest.org it didn't work but I am sure you can find it! The Family Mahone have sold out of course, and Levs are in hot persuit.
Fringe will feature many of the mainstage bands, folk clubs hosting artists, sessions and singarounds, dancing, boats, 3 craft and food stall sites, have I forgotten anything? Salt Town Poets who as always will host open mics, poetry sessions... oh and lots more than I can write here, please have a look at their website or MFAB website and come along, tickets available on line with credit or paypal, couldn't be easier! I have booked the weather too!! Camping close to the main festival site, and boats welcome too of course...
Enough to convince you to pay us a visit......
Look forward to seeing you!
Liz
