Subject: The Session - 'Celtic' on WFDU-FM - NEW! From: WFDU - Ron Olesko Date: 06 Jun 06 - 11:42 AM In addition to my folk show TRADITIONS (a show that I started in 1980 and continue to host along with Bill Hahn), I have been hosting a Celtic program on Sunday mornings. Unfortunately, the program aired at an extremely early hour (for me and many listeners!). The Sunday Session is moving to Fridays at noon Eastern Time and will now be known simply as THE SESSION. The show has strong roots in Irish and Scottish trad, with explorations in contemporary settings as well as other cultures influenced by the Celtic traditions. We will share Breton, Galician, and even a contra dance or two! For those of you hear in the U.S., particulary on the Eastern seaboard, I hope you will make the show a lunchtime companion. No matter where you are on the globe you can tune in via the internet by going to our website at www.wfdu.fm . If you are in the NYC area, tune in to 89.1 on Fridays from noon until 1pm, ET! I hope many of you can join us! |
