Subject: Cat Stevens BBC1 1045 pm 30th May 2006 From: Rasener Date: 30 May 06 - 04:25 PM Just noticed there is a program on tonight as per title of this thread related to why he has decided to release his first album in 23 years. He explains why the clash between his adopted religion and the west inspired his comeback. 50 minute program. Might be interesting. |

However, I keep coming back to the thought that he is being used as a pawn in the Islamic world. Having said that, if he can bring peace and stability to the world, then good on yer Cat. If you can stop the radicals from carrying out all these senseless atrocities, then I am with you. I am not religious, but wish all religions would stop trying in the name of God to kill each other. That applies to Bush, Blair and Bin Laden and anybody else who chooses to kill innocent people. |

Subject: RE: Cat Stevens BBC1 1045 pm 30th May 2006 From: Paco Rabanne Date: 31 May 06 - 05:45 AM I caught this programme by accident, as a big fan of Cat Stevens I damn near wet myself with excitement!!! There was so much old film of him that I had never seen before. Is it me, or did he look and sound like Bill Oddie's older, less interesting brother? As to the religious stuff, Richard Thompson didn't leave the modern world in a tiff when he became a muslim did he? |
