The long awaited new Roll & Go recording ROLLING DOWN TO SAILORTOWN is finally available in commercial quanities. Track descriptions, notes and MP3 samples are all available from our website: Click here for website

The selections include four Cicely Fox Smith poems set to music:

Outward Bound
So Long (All Coiled Down)
Mariquita
Port o' Dreams

Traditional sea shanties:

Paddy Lay Back
Running Down to Cuba
Whiskey-O, Johnny-O
Serafina
South Australia
Leave Her Johnny

Drinking Songs:

Fathom The Bowl
Gosport Nancy
Mariner's Compass Is Grog
All For Me Grog

And other fine songs:

Paddy West
Mollymauk
West Indies Blues
Outside Track

About half of these songs should be familiar with sea music lovers. The other half are more obscure, and some have been only recently composed or adapted from poems for singing. They all deserve more attention in the years to come.

Roll & Go as a group has been together since the early 1990's and is based in Maine. The current members include Eli Dale, Norris Dale, Dick Dufresne, Charlie Ipcar, and Jeff Logan.

Roll & Go is honored to have been invited to perform at the Mystic Sea Music Festival this year, June 8-11.

Cheerily,
Charley Noble

Barry-

Sure, we've already sent a crate or two down to the Mystic Museum Store, and they acknowledge receiving them. They'll be selling for $16 each.

The CD's also do make fine coasters for your glass of Port Royal rum!

Cheerily,
Charley Noble

What fun! We've just received our first website order for this CD from someone we don't know. Keep 'em coming. Another hundred or so and we pay for the production cost of the CD!

Roll & Go members have been listening to this CD nonestop for the past six months, and, surprisingly, some of the tracks still give me chills. We did distribute a few advance copies to other folks and it would be nice to hear what they thought of this CD.

Fortunately, anyone else can get a good preview from the MP3 samples of the website.

Cheerily,
Charley Noble

For those interested in a CD of unusual, as well as traditional, sea songs, ROLLING DOWN TO SAILORTOWN may now be ordered from Chantey Cabin in the UK. We are honored to be among such good company.

When Roll & Go performed at the recent Mystic Sea Music Festival, over 50 of these CD's sold to people other than our immediate friends and relatives.

Catch the wave!

Cheerily,
Charley Noble
