Subject: Celtic Heritage Festival in Central VA From: JedMarum Date: 08 May 03 - 05:03 PM The Celtic Heritage Festival in Central VA will be happening over May 17 and 18. I'll be on the Family Stage; Saturday at 11 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. I guess that measn I can't tell my Seamus Kennedy stories! I hope to say hello to Mudcatters from the area. Please come by and say, if you can make the festival. |

Subject: RE: Celtic Heritage Festival in Central VA From: UB Ed Date: 12 May 03 - 09:04 AM Geez, Jed, thanks for the post; this is the first I've heard of it (not that I'm a good one for up to the minute "Whats Up"). I'm in Richmond. Looks like a great lineup; I'll begin the scheduling negotiations to see if I can swing it. I'll keep looking, but could not determine where one could buy advance tickets... |

Subject: RE: Celtic Heritage Festival in Central VA From: Seamus Kennedy Date: 12 May 03 - 01:33 PM Jed, I'll be in Pittsburgh that weekend, so go ahead and tell all the Seamus Kennedy stories you want! Have a great time in Virginia and as we musicians say: "Break a finger." Seamus |

Subject: RE: Celtic Heritage Festival in Central VA From: JedMarum Date: 12 May 03 - 01:56 PM LOL, Seamus! I just don't think I oughtta tell Seamus Kennedy stories from the Family Stage! 'course, since you'll be in Pittsburgh I could always tell 'em I'm Seamus Kennedy - I might just get away with a few more risque stories from the Family Stage! |

Subject: RE: Celtic Heritage Festival in Central VA From: UB Ed Date: 15 May 03 - 02:36 PM Well, am currently planning to get up there Saturday afternoon. I'll tell you, though, this advanced ticket sales business was very frustrating; looks like I'll be paying $40 instead of the $24 had somebody from the festival responded to Monday's email. Oh well. Subject: RE: Celtic Heritage Festival in Central VA From: GUEST,Heely Date: 16 May 03 - 11:39 AM Yes, Virginia, we have mudcatters. But I am afraid that many of us are participating this weekend in the Fair Hill Maryland HIghland Games. It is a conflict every year. Best of luck in your event. Heely in VA |

Subject: RE: Celtic Heritage Festival in Central VA From: UB Ed Date: 19 May 03 - 09:45 AM Well, its Monday and the sun is now just coming back after being absent for the entire weekend. An uncommonly cold and wet May greeted Mr. Marum and the other performers. Toward the end of the afternoon my family retreated to the car as a self preservation move. Nonetheless, Jed Marum delighted his audience with his songs as well as collaborations with others in the Mudcat family. A consummate performer, Jed was oblivious to the elements as he shared his music with us. Desolation Island knocked me out. Jed, please come back to Virginia again. For sure, you have experienced the 100 year weather event. Its just got to be better next time! Ed |

Subject: RE: Celtic Heritage Festival in Central VA From: JedMarum Date: 20 May 03 - 12:19 AM Well thanks Ed - you are most kind! The festival was a bit of a bust, mostly because of the weather - but a few organizational problems created obstacles too. They closed down the event on Sunday. I hope my check's good! It was good to meet you. I wish we'd had a bit more time - but maybe next time. I hope to be out there again soon. Thanks for saying hello. ... and I hope you like the CD. That's Mr Fielding and Mr Lane on there. Jeri was there too, offering moral support (or was is immoral). |
