Well perhaps not but she would like to have been. With sadness I have to announce the death from cancer of my wonderful pooch Pebbles age 14 and a bit. Famed for her almost disappearance at Towersey Festival and from various appearances at Otley FF Whitby Shanty, Holmfirth Hull Sea Fever and sometime appearances at the Sun Inn Beverley. She had terrible breath but was her own woman and could devour a chicken at one sitting. She was also hell of a looker and a bit of a tease. Sadly missed but never forgotten.

Linda, I know how you feel, and strangely our dog was called Pebbles too. She's been gone three years now,but it was about this time of year.Pebbles was a cross collie, mad as a hatter, when we let her off the lead in the park she'd run in huge circles as fast as she could.Pebbles had epilepsy and all we could do was talk to her during a fit, she was as brave as a lion from behind the window but would crawl under parked cars if anyone was walking along the pavement towards us.At night she would patrol the house making sure everyone was safely tucked up in bed.She was an amazing dog and irreplaceable,it broke my heart to take to the vet's but her spirit is still with us (she's buried in the garden).
cheers
bill

it's been over 10 years since I lost my dog - and it's still tough - Last summer we lost by BIL's malamute - and he (BIL) still looks for him occasionaly when he gets in from work.

Very sorry Linda. She'll be waiting for you I'm sure at the Rainbow Bridge.

Sissy, Jaeger, and I all send our condolences.

Sorry, Linda.

Pebbles, if not a legend, will certainly be remembered fondly in the folk community, not least for having the temerity to fall asleep under the bench in the barn at Towersey in the midst of the most wonderful singing- and to stay there happily whilst the hue and cry was being raised by a panicking Linda who thought Pebbles was lost and gone!

Happy memories.

Linda, I remembered the "Towersey incident" too, (and how said Pebbles was asleep under my feet all through the Hue and cry) when I heard the news and a wry smile formed hugs and good feelings for you, from us here, redeemable at the Yorkshire gathering

I'm so sorry to learn of your loss, Linda. Pebbles was a great character - a small dog with a huge personality! I shall throw a stick or two into the sea in her memory.

I am sorry to hear this, too, Linda. We get such incredible love and comraderie from our four-leggeds, don't we. Pebbles sounds like she was quite a character. (Our daughter had a turtle named Pebbles, too. He lived over 16 years.)

Lots of hugs and condolences from us to you,

kat, Rog, Merlee-the Border Collie and the cats: Charlee, who just lost his twin brother about a month ago; Ms. Lovee; Trystan; Kipling; and Kelpie

Already told you how sorry I am, but I'll say it again. I just HATE it when this happens. The alternative, not to have friends, is worse.

I'm quite broken up about Pebbles, one of the best dogs of all time, and always a really good friend. Night night, Pebbs.
