Here's sonething to round off your Easter weekend - Come-All-Ye!

Singaround / Session at the Bull Pub in Barton-le-Clay, Bedfordshire, UK (use postcode MK45 4LL for map search) on Monday 21st April, kicking off at 8.30pm ish.

All acoustic instruments (up to & including shaky eggs or pringles shakers *sigh*) & voices very welcome at this cosy venue and we're always glad to see new faces :-) If the pub's busy they've promised to open up the back room for us!

It's held fortnightly to run in tandem with the University of Luton music workshop which is hosted at the University on alternate Saturday mornings.

Come if you can, but if you can't then perhaps you can come to the next one which will be on Monday 5th May :-) Yes, it'll be on the May Day bank holiday - everywhere else will be closed, so come & join us!

Very good

Sorry I can't be with you tonight in Croxley Green

This week has left me with 3 working wheels on my car & manic depression

Better start writing another song

Sorry about your song Ross, I feel bad about using your super song to my own ends or maybe that's the folk process, it was a work of pure guiness. Having three wheels on your car and manic depresion does sound like an excellent song subject.

Well done Piers

A brilliant song - is it in the mode of trad blues ie I,IV,V notation?

Don't think it needs water main or identity crisis in it

Carry on the good works & enjoy the wedding

We will soldier on

Did you know that Tony Blair brought his eyebrows from a shop in Harpenden?

Help somebody! Confusion reigns. Who is Piers marrying? And why is it not his wedding? I think we should be told........

Sorry Mary, a bit of confusion on my part, I'm not getting married at all, just going to a wedding of some people I've only met a couple of times. If it weren't for the free booze, I'd much rather be singing in Barton le Clay on Monday night, but those of us who share a Mudcat horizontal folk award for drinking must keep our hand in, at the noble art of good humoured debauchery. My co-awardee, Hil, will be getting lots of practice at the Miskin festival this weekend.

Ross - I didn't know that about Blair's eyebrows, but I could show you where Eric Morecombe got his tobacco.

Cheers
      Piers

When I was a nipper, we went carol singing round Eric's house

As I lived in Redbourn for first 23 years of my life

He wasn't too impressed when Kevin Finn blew his trumpet at him

And we were a bit puzzled why Kevin brought his trumpet along

I use to walk through Rothampsted park as a short cut to the swimming pool

That's why I'm genetically mutilated, sorry modified

Who is John Hegley - sounds a bit high brow

I'm reading Little People by Tom Holt at the moment - all about elves

Me and Titch will be venturing North of Watford for the purpose. Herga's shut tonight anyway. With 12 sting guitar, unfertilised eggs, kazoos etc.

Breezy can't make it (John gone Barbados this am)

I'll see if Chris is up for it too, then we might get to hear ChrisHilId doing "Sir Richard" (mmmm...lucky Sir Richard)

Ross,
John Hegley, is a poet, who comes from Luton, and writes in a similar style to your Redbourn recollection.

Have a great time tonight everyone, sorry I can't be there.

Piers

You're too modest Guru - I thought your contribution was very nice

Don't forget to dust the tops of the doors & hoover the cat

Could be a song there?

Piers - still can't get a tune to fit the three wheeled manic depressive song
