From: alison

In the past mudcatters helped me name an Irish / Aussie band... now I'm hoping someone has some good suggestions for a name for an aussie bush band.....

songs would be about convicts, shearers etc....... mixture of Irish and Aussie tunes.

I'm looking for something a bit out of the ordinary but still sounding classy....... fussy aren't I?!!*grin*

all suggestions will be welcome

thanks

alison

Listen al, whatever you do, please retain your sense of humor about it. Some fans take some of this stuff WAY too seriously. Wanna' see Ol' Spaw make a little pun and find that some people have a limited (read: NO) sense of humor? Here's your laugh for the day....... Read this thread!

Okay, so that is an Archie Roach album, but I'm told he's a nice man. He might be willing to share. I'll come up with more later!

Last visit there, we had to practice to be able to say what appeared to be the response to nearly everything (no worries, mate), condensed from four to two syllables.

Irish-Australian, eh? Studiously avoiding the massive English contribution to Aussie folk are we? Here are some suggestions:
       The Nasal Droners
       The Whine in the 'Strine
       The Retrospective Bleaters
       The Put-Apon Paddies
       Moanin' in the Gloaming
       Transports of Delight
       The Feminine Famine
       Yes, We Have No Potatoes
