Subject: Lyr Add: TELL ME HIS NAME AGAIN (George Bennard) From: Jim Dixon Date: 13 Apr 03 - 12:03 PM Is this the one you want? Lyrics copied from http://www.angelfire.com/ar/Sunshinexpress/hisname.html That site also has a midi file--but it also has lots of annoying popups. TELL ME HIS NAME AGAIN (George Bennard) They tell me of love's sweet old story. They tell me of a wonderful name. It thrills my soul with its glory. It burns in my heart like a flame. They say He's the one that so loved me, That in Heaven He could not remain; He came down to seek and to save me. Oh, tell me His name again. CHORUS: Oh, tell me His name again And sing me the sweet refrain Of Him who in love, came down from above To die on the cross in shame. This story my heart has been stirred, The sweetest I've ever heard, It banishes fear; it brings hope and cheer, Oh tell me His name again They say He was born in a manger, That there was no room in the inn; And in His own world was a stranger, But loved us in spite of our sins; They said that His path led to Calvary, And one day He died there in shame. He gave His great life a ransom. Oh, tell me His name again. They call Him the sweet Rose of Sharon. They call Him the lily so fair. They call Him the great rock of ages. They call Him the bright morning star. He's a prophet, a priest, and redeemer, The king of all kings He now reigns. He's coming in power and glory. Oh, tell me His name again. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Oh, Tell Me His Name Again From: GUEST,Ivan Date: 10 Apr 08 - 09:09 PM You can find the words by googling "Tell Me His Name Again". I believe it is the first listing website that appears. It plays the music, but does not vocalize the words. However, the words are written out for you to read. I first heard this sone probably 50 years ago. I have loved it since. The way I heard the story was as follows: Many years ago a missionary to China told how a very old Chinese woman attended one of his services and listened to the story of Jesus. As the invitation plea was given, she opened her heart and soul to the Saviour. After the service, she traveled back over the dusty hot road to her village home. After many days her heart was eager to learn more about this life, so she set out to find the missionary. Several days passed as she searched and searched. Finally, she located the missionary. Walking up to him, she said, "I know He saved me, and He made me happy inside, but would you tell me His name again?" As a result of that story the following song was written by George Bernard: "Oh, tell me His name again, And sing me that sweet refrain Of Him who in love came down from above To die on the Cross of shame. The Story my heart has stirred The sweetest I've ever heard; It banishes fear, it brings hope and cheer, Oh, tell me His name again. |
