Well, there's Sparky, but where is the ephemeral Red Jones? It is I, Chance Shiver who asks.

GUEST:

Hey, when you hook up with the Sparkman, say hey from "The Sarge" and tell his lazy butt to stop on by and tell a few good lies. I've got a couple of his tapes and maybe one CD. He's got a real cool song entitled "Babylon Blues" you might enjoy. If you'd like to join Mudcat and PM I'll give you his email address.

Yo, Chance:

You and your son interested in crossin' the Potamac and play a blues set next month at a coffee house I've gotten off the ground?

PM me...

Bobert

Glad to see the name! I haven't seen him around in a few years, but I'm big fan. He's done some of the best children's programs I've ever seen.

BOBERT,

Could be, thanks for asking. Shoot me the details and we'll go from there. How's the lovely Pea-vine? Tell her I said howdy.

Thanks, Burke. I just sent the Colonel a long email and then clicked on here and see that the Sparkman is gonna do the Herndon Festival. Cool! I reckoon he'll be staying at Ray Krieninski's between Common Ground and the Herndon gig. He certainly ain't going back to Tennessee and drive back the following week.

Great. Looks like we'll be having the Colonel, Rhonda and Jamie out for a meal or two here on the Blue Ridge...

I have as much fun with Jamie (their sone) as do with them...

I haven't seen him in a while (summer of 2000)! Burke, when you say "Kirlkland Art Center," your not talking about the Seattle suburb Kirkland are you? I'll be very upset with myself if he just came through and I missed him. I've been hoping he'd stop through this part of the country for quite a while now!

Say Bobert we do have something in common. He's great friends with Nick and Joanie Blanton and was introduced to me several years ago at O'Hurleys as the Other Great Black Banjo Player. (At the time my six string banjo had a black head on it). I've done sound for him several times at the Common Ground festival in Westminster. MD. Say Hi when you see him...

Sure will, Claymore. Hey, he's gonna play the Herndon Festival at Frying Pan Park. Maybe the two of us can git down there and rough him up a little.

Bobert
