Subject: Gig at Chalk Farm London (self promotion From: Chris Amos Date: 27 Mar 03 - 01:49 AM Hi, I have an unusual gig, at a rock venue, next Monday; it's at the Enterprise (opposite Chalk Farm Tube, doors open 8.00pm) I shall be supporting a band, "Green Ray", which includes in it's line-up; Ken Whaley, who used to be in that excellent Welsh seventies band Man, there is also Richard Treece (ex – Help yourself), my old mate Simon Darling and Simon Whaley. If you like both Traditional music and west-coast psychedelic blues then come along, should be a great evening. Chris |

I presume you know that back in the 70's The Enterprise had one of the leading Folk Clubs in London....How times do change! Have a great night Regards Ralphie |

Subject: RE: Gig at Chalk Farm London (self promotion From: Micca Date: 27 Mar 03 - 08:21 AM Ralphie, I understand that the Unity Folk club still meet at the Enterprise on one Monday per month, (I think the 2nd or 3rd Monday but I am not certain) |

Subject: RE: Gig at Chalk Farm London (self promotion From: Dave Bryant Date: 27 Mar 03 - 11:32 AM I can remember "The Enterprise" during the Sixties when the organiser was Terry Gould and the resident group were "The Northwest Three" (Hampstead's post code). I heard virtually every name on the UK folk scene: Bert Lloyd, Sydney Carter, The Spinners, Leon Rosselson, Stan Kelly, Ewan MaColl, Redd Sullivan & Martin Windsor, Dave and Tonie Arthur, Pete Stanley, and of course Martin Carthy who only lived up the road. In fact I heard Martin with the "Thamesiders", "Three City Four", Solo, and later of course with Swarb. It was definitely the place to go ! |
