Subject: Review: Celtic Cross - The Long Road From: Devilmaster Date: 24 Mar 03 - 04:07 PM The long awaited CD from the Windsor, Ontario band which included MudCatter Clinton Hammond, has finally been released! A mix of 15 songs of CC's take on traditional, contemporary, and original work, 'The Long Road' is their first CD. From their liner notes: "As we worked through the recording, mixing, and mastering of this CD, we found that many of the songs presented here tell the tale of a journey of one kind or another. It seemed only natural, then, as we discussed ideas for a title, that 'The Long Road' was a fitting name. We've included songs and instrumentals that have proven over the years to be our audiences' favorites... They happen to be our favorites too. Cheers, Celtic Cross" Members of Celtic Cross on this CD are: Mark Crampsie: Octave Mandolin, Flute, Guitar, Bodhran, Whistle, Lead and Harmony vocals Frank Edgley: Fiddle, Harmony Vocals Clinton Hammond: Guitars, Lead and Harmony Vocals Brian VanderPryt: Bass, Guitar, Bodhran, Lead and Harmony Vocals And Some samples of the music: Hillcrest Mine - Lead singer :Clinton Raglan Road - Lead singer:Mark Homeland - Lead singer:Clinton The Celtic Cross - Lead singer:Mark South Australia - Lead singer:Mark All the above samples are around 30 seconds each and downsampled to keep the files small. If you'd like a copy, PM or email Clinton Hammond, and he'll set you up. Enjoy, eh! Steve |
