Subject: Tech: New Server Online - Say Hello to Tao From: Max Date: 23 Jan 03 - 12:17 AM We have a brand new server online folks. Her name is Tao, and she is now handling all requests, so no matter what name you put in (except help.mudcat.org) you got her. She's a Dual 1GHz Server with EIDE RAID0-2 Hard Drives. What's that mean? She's fast (over twice as fast as the Mudcat has ever been) and she should be a lot more reliable. So lets check her out then huh? Taj can now retire (be sent back to intel for scrap). Thanks for all your support and CD sales, and patience, and everything (Keep it coming though, we still need a new database server). |

I've been through all sort of accusations here including Max and others accusing me of hidden agendas including me "wanting in". All I wanted was matters, both software to address problems - such as BS filters and reliability hardware issuses addressed. This now seems to have happened (and no, I'm not claiming it was because of me - seems more likley this was a plan few were aware of and was going to happen anyway). I love this set of CDs--I know it's a lot of work to raise money that way, but the "value added" aspect of getting samples of so many Mudcatters performances is a great by-product. If/when you get ready to put together another one, I'd like to send a song or two from my Dad, who if he were still living would certainly be a Mudcatter today. For a lot of reasons I hope you keep the hard drive(s) from Taj before the rest goes to the great computer scrap pile in the Philippines, or where ever they're recyling them now. SRS |
